Heather Locklear was arrested for a hit-and-run after her black BMW crashed into a "no parking" sign near her home.
Sources say the crash occurred around 4 a.m., but law enforcement officials weren't called to the scene until almost 8 p.m.
After a thorough investigation, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department determined Locklear to be the owner of the culprit car.
The actress, who pled no contest to reckless driving, may be in violation of probation stemming from her 2008 D.U.I. arrest.
Her attorney, however, says that police are still looking into the matter as it is not yet clear who was driving the vehicle.
